I've been making some new friends here, so I guess I should actually write a bio.

tl;dr: Queer Neurodivergent Librarian.

I'm Rachael. Currently working remotely as a library data analyst. Have worked as several varieties of librarian over the past eighteen years.

Let me lay out my traumas for you! My entire family of origin has died within the past decade - my mom in 2012, my dad in 2014, and my younger sister in 2016. Six months after my sister's death, I was diagnosed with endometriosis (after a cyst ruptured and landed me in the hospital for emergency surgery). I have chronic pain.

I have a teenage daughter. She is autistic and twice exceptional and she makes great art.

I'm probably neurodivergent too, but I don't have any official paperwork about it.

I have a spouse. He makes a wide variety of art and music and he is very into hedgehogs.

I have an ex-husband. He and I share custody of the kid.

Due to the shared custody, I live in rural Maryland, and will continue to do so until the kid is eighteen.

My main hobby is participation in the Society for Creative Anachronism. I do singing and sewing and camping with them.

I used to write romance and erotica. Now I occasionally write poetry. I run a queer book club.

I like to eat weird stuff.

I'm a snob about beer, tea, yarn, incense, and bagels. I am not a snob about books.

I do fiber art. I watch birds. I hike. I like crosswords.

I'm a Buddhist, more or less. With pagan/animist tendencies.
